The feedback I receive from families is incredibly important to us. The vast majority is very positive, and I certainly take into account anything I could improve on. In many ways, SDF is quite different from when it started a few years ago.

It’s sometimes interesting to hear what the competition says about us to families. Naturally, they are not going to be very positive. In most cases, it’s negative and often incorrect. The reason is that they are hoping families choose them, not us.

From the start, I have encouraged Google reviews, and it has been almost 100% 5 stars. However, I wanted to see what the summary of these reviews was. What were the aspects families mentioned the most? Was it the low cost, the stress-free service, or my captivating personality?

ANYWAY – I actually used an AI tool to collate and summarize all my Google reviews. The result was insightful…

Even though, back in the day, I was in the Waimea College Brass Band and Orchestra, I’m not really someone who likes to blows his own trumpet. It’s not my nature. SDF isn’t so much about me as it is about the families. I’d much prefer that SDF be known as a place where people will experience Compassionate Service, Efficiency and Promptness, Affordability, Personalized Assistance, High Customer Satisfaction, Professionalism, and Support During Grief.

I don’t really care what the competition says. I’m far more interested in the families who trust me during a vulnerable and difficult time.

I will continue to encourage Google reviews because what families say is far more significant than what the competition has to say.
